The site is an old illegal building located on top of the cliff of the holy Kadisha valley. It is the only building to be seen from the valley and it is integrated in the cliff.

 

Kadisha valley is known to be a peace oasis. It's an asylum and a pole of attraction to which the Christian minorities were attached since the fifth century when men in silence and hermits found particularly favorable conditions .

 

It is a small world open to infinity

 

Conceptual study

Integration of the nature in the interior and through the architecture.

 

The creation of platforms in an ascending direction, and each platform contains different functions, which are 7 in total -7 translating the 7 steps of meditation to go from beginner stage to master stage, and the number 7 is also taken from the SHAKRAS which are the 7 energy points in meditation.

 

The circulation is formed in all the architecture by a ramp (slpoe=10%), view the importance of the path in meditation. The ramp will extend out of the architecture at each time to translate the nirvana phase , when meditators souls ascend the body.

 

Space perception

-Cubic spaces are signals of positivity

-The sense of protection depends on the lengh of the rectangle

-Dynamism is created to the main vanishing point which favors the interpretation of the two volumes

-Partition of a single volume in two different areas without diminishing its identity

-Real door: strong transition and the spaces on each side keep their identity

-Hidden door: Anxiety, and the fear of the unknown, the unseen. Curiosity and exploration

 

 

Nature of the Kadisha Valley

The size and colosal - The height towards the infinite to the blue horizon.

In the lines, the shapes, the colors, the top and bottom.

In its 4 seasons (Colors and shapes), there is a passage in different states, physical/mental/spiritual
