Cartoonish Beirut
You can tease me, you can irritate me, you can knock me down, leave me out at sea, hit me with a hammer, throw dynamite at me and even steal my food, but at the end of the day, i still can't live without you you bastard.
A yellow/red-top wearing creature has been spotted in Corniche l Mazraa asking for large ammounts of honey.
You see that down there Minnie? That's Beirut, a sublime schizophrenia. The city to which my heart will always crawl back to.

Noor Tabet and Kristine Nakad are behind Cartoonish Beirut, which is an Instagram account that wanted to give back something to the city that we love and hate, schizophrenic Beirut, so they bombarded it with cartoons. The purpose was quite simple, but it's not that easy you see. Anyone can place a cartoon over any randomly given photograph, but the thing behind their uprising success is that every photo combination they try to make holds a very taken care of and studied aspect of ideals, noting a few: composition, scale, shadow, color coding and most importantly, humor.
They're not experts in what they're doing, this is not their area of expertise, but they try, they're in love with it.
