A smal bakery in mar mikhael was found and turned into a cocktail bar under the name of Perk.

 

This 40sqm Pub was divided the best way possible to fit the largest number of guests.

The owners insisted on creating a friendly space, full of positive vibes.

 

I translated this request into the interior.

Starting with the Red colored Abajoor facade -Color is the easiest and most effective way of instantly creating a mood for a pub, by using warm and advancing colors in areas where i want people to feel welcomed-

And since the space is tight and small, i used the dark red color that will give the illusion of depth and saturation, absorbing more light. However, deeper colors always create a feeling of coziness and can actually make a pub seem boundless.

 

A void at the entrance for ventilation purposes was created. This gap was filled with hanging planter fixtures to add some life to the place.

 

The ceiling was cladded with light untreated wood. Due to the low ceiling height, this color of wood will make it feel higher.

 

To the left, a happy memory wall was created. the wall was painted with the same red as the facade, then covered with perforated rusty metal. 

Different sizes and shapes of frames were hanged, showing pictures of happy people.

 

To the right, a 5m bar was built. The top from wood, and the sides from rusty metal.

The back bar was created from a metallic structure and glass shelves to let the light pass from bottle to bottle.

 

The DJ is located at the end near the stairs, under the "this machine kills faschists" wall.

This way he can interfere with the guests, follow their mood and play his best tunes.

 

The lighting fixtures above the bar are handmade and upcycled, made from perforated metal cans. They are all dimmed lights to be able to control the ambiance in the pub.

 

Going upstairs, both walls on both sides are mirror cladded to make the space look larger..

Upstairs, 2 bathrooms that didn't exist were created. One for females, the other for males. Bathroom fixtures are also upcycled items made from pipes and old buckets.

 

A small kitchen and stock room were also created from scratch.

 

Small tights build big families, and Perk has become my family.
